An impasse and a crossroad met in a coffee shop. The world wasn't ending. In fact, there were still six months before the end of the world began.
Almost.
Impass as usual had nowhere to go. And Crossroad, as usual, could not decide where to go. So they got together in a coffee shop to help each other out. Impasse offered to block(obviously) the all the other paths and leave one open so that Crossroads would be able to take one random path and move on. Crossroad offered a multitude of pathways so that impasse can choose any one of them and move on. The problem was not the fact that they can help each other.
The problem came after.
What happens after they resolve their conundrum? Who would help them the next time? What if the path they chose, random though it may be, was not the path they wanted to go? What if they did not like the paths midway through the journey and wanted to change their minds? Considering the end of the world and all that, how could they make sure that the path they chose led to a place where the end of the world was a bit less explosive?
And so they pondered their dilemma over a cup of deathly dark coffee. No sugar. Other crossroads and impasses would drown themselves in sugar at every chance they got. These didn't.
Historians, philosophers, and similar brainiacs opine that the world will not end because the 'end of the world' is a conspiracy theory. Or a rumor. Or both. Technically, the 'end of the world', such as it is perceived by all things living or otherwise, may not happen because a crossroad and an impasse met in a coffee shop. And found love...
